Letterpress

broadly refers to type printing and is best suited for line illustration and typography. The process includes inking the surface of the letterform or illustration with a roller and then pressing the type onto paper using pressure. Traditionally, the best letterpress barely showed any impression. Contemporary letterpress shows more of an impression, which distinguishes it from offset or digital printing.
